Air Ambulance Big Hit at Herts Youth Games!
The 18th Annual Herts Youth Games took place at the stunning facilities of the Hertfordshire Sports Village, University of Hertfordshire on Saturday 26th June with hundreds of young athletes from every corner of Hertfordshire turning out to compete in a variety of different sports including badminton, cricket, athletics and football.

Herts Sport Partnership, who organised the event, chose Herts Air Ambulance as the official charity of the Games for the second year running. The event was a great way for Herts Air Ambulance to raise its profile and give young people an opportunity to learn about its life-saving work. In addition, over £300 was raised for the Charity, helping to keep the County’s Air Ambulance flying. The life-saving aircraft was based at the grounds of the Hertfordshire Sports Village and was operational from the site. All athletes, parents and spectators alike had the unique opportunity of meeting the Air Crew and seeing the helicopter up close, including local dignitaries who were given a tour of the aircraft by Doctor Adam Chesters. Pilot Pete also made a special appearance at the Games and proved to be a hit with the youngsters!
